Middle School Mathematics Guidelines

·      Students need to be prepared for class each day. Turn in assignment before the bell rings, have scratch paper, pencil and textbook, and be seated and quiet when the bell rings.

·      All work must be done in pencil to receive credit.

·      Assignments one day late will lose 25% of the earned points and more than one day late will lose 50% of the earned points. Assignments turned in after the chapter test will only receive 1 point.

·      Any assignment that scored less than 80% may be corrected once. Students can correct the problems that are wrong and turn in the corrected assignment any time before the chapter test.

·      There will be some extra credit throughout each trimester. Students will also receive extra credit for returning signed progress reports.

·      Students need to complete their calendar the first day of every week. Some days we will be using a calculator. Students should bring a calculator on these days. All work should be shown on assignments unless stated that a calculator may be used.

·      Grade reports will be sent home about once every two to three weeks. Please check your grade on line weekly.

·      If you have a question or need help, talk to Mr. Townsend. He is available before school (7:30 am), at lunch time, and some days after school. You can also call him at home (445-3009) or send him an e-mail (townsend@conway.k12.wa.us).
