Dear Families,
Can you believe this is the last week of school ?!
So many things to do…………..so little time.
We will do a reading story so we can practice the skills and spelling patterns that come with it, but there will be no tests.
We finished chapter 10 in math, which is the last, but there are extension lessons we will use. There is no homework with these lessons. I am sending home the glossary for the math series. Kids might want to check and make sure they know and remember the terms to be ready for second grade. They will use the same series.
Your child’s end of the year Dibels scores are coming home today. Take the fluency score seriously. If s/he isn’t reading at or above 50 words per minute, please, please, please continue to have him/her read aloud to you this summer. Five days a week is good to shoot for, for all new almost second graders.
Remember these happenings:
· Field day is Tuesday from 8:30-11:30. Share the spirit by wearing neon or bright colors! Mrs. Turner needs more help. If you can, please contact her.
· Conway Spirit day is Friday. Wear your cougar stuff. This is also a half day and the very last day of school. Please help your child clean out his/her backpack so s/he can bring home their supplies.
Home-School Connection
This week our story is Poppleton Every Day. This is the story of a pig in search of the best grown up bed he can find. Poppleton used many tests to be sure that the bed is perfect for him.
